Have you ever wanted to deepen your practice of documenting love and intimacy in public settings? This course examines public displays of affection in street photography. Following a brief survey of contemporary photographers, we cover topics such as intimacy, the role of consent and anonymity, approaching strangers, and more. We then turn to the streets of New York to capture intimate moments in key public settings, such as Washington Square Park, Central Park, Midtown, and Coney Island, where we implement the various approaches we’ve learned. A final critique concludes the course.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
