The Photographic Mind Map

Dates: September 30 - December 16, 2020

Meets: W from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location: CE Zoom Classroom

Fall Tuition: $750

The mind map is a way to explore information related to a central theme—a word or image in the center of a blank page from which associations radiate. In this seminar, we use the mind map exercise as a visual thinking tool to examine the genesis of students’ connections to their photography and to consider the elements that inform it, including primary interests, dreams and memories. Discoveries serve as a springboard for a body of work that is created throughout the term. This class is limited to 12 students.

Prerequisite: Intermediate: You are familiar with a camera, whether film or digital. You understand aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, histograms, and how to control focus. Youare comfortable editing and processing your images. You may want to learn how to utilize your camera in a more thoughtful and articulate way, or learn more about lighting or how to utilize theoretical concepts in relation to your portfolio of work.

Note: All camera formats are welcome.

Fee: $750.00
