A Walk in the Park: A Photography Workshop in Central Park

One of the most photographed places on earth, Central Park is a jewel of nature in the heart of Manhattan. This weekend workshop delves into its storied history and enduring visual life, exploring how photographers have captured this beloved green oasis from its earliest days to the present. After looking at images made from 1858 onward-from luminous wet plate glass negatives to iconic 20th-century photographs-we visit both celebrated landmarks and hidden corners of the park. On both days, students are encouraged to photograph freely and creatively, with guidance on how to approach each location.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
