Dates: September 14 - October 26, 2026

Meets: M from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET

Location: Online Zoom Classroom

Course Tuition: $175

This course surveys the history of the photobook, from its origins-just 20 years after the invention of photography-to the present day. Alongside Parr and Badger's foundational volumes, the reading list draws on photobooks that expand the historical record to include women, people of color, and LGBTQ photographers left out of the dominant narrative. Each session pairs lecture with open conversation, tracing how these works, canonical and overlooked alike, continue to fuel the photobooks being made today. The course is designed to inspire and inform photographers who are developing, or beginning to imagine, a photobook of their own.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
