A Complete Guide to Collecting Photography: Insider Tips, Gallery Visits and an Auction Preview (Hybrid)

Collector and Chair of ICP’s Collections Committee, the instructor of this master class covers the questions to ask before buying a photograph, where to shop (galleries vs. art fairs), and how to buy at auction. Half the sessions are online; the other half are in-person, including visits to an auction house and prominent galleries and the final session, a dinner at the instructor’s home in Manhattan and a tour of her 300-piece collection alongside ICP’s Chief Curator. Beginner to more experienced collectors as well as photographers walk away with the confidence to navigate today’s photography market. Note: This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
