From the glass towers of Williamsburg to the boardwalk of Coney Island, students in this walking class traverse the unique neighborhoods of Brooklyn’s waterfront over the course of four-days. On Day 5, we meet back at ICP to look at each other’s work in a group workshop. The instructor presents examples of classic New York City photography for inspiration, in addition to readings pertaining to walking in the city. All cameras and levels are welcome, but they should be suitable for long walks. Note: This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.

We will be meeting on-location in Greenpoint on Day 1. Come prepared for the weather in suitable walking shoes/ sneakers. Bring equipment that is conducive to walking for a long time (no heavy tripods or large format).
