A Complete Guide to Collecting Photography: Insider Tips, Gallery Visits and an Auction Preview (Hybrid)

This six-session hybrid master class starts with the fundamentals of collecting, including key questions to consider before making a purchase, where to shop (galleries vs. art fairs), and strategies for buying at auction. Students then have an exclusive preview of an auction house sale as well as private visits with prominent Chelsea and Upper East Side galleries to meet dealers and look at the artists they represent. To round off the learning experience, students present photographs they would hypothetically like to buy. This class is open to everyone, from beginners to more seasoned collectors. This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Beginner. No prior photography experience is needed for these foundation courses.
