Beyond the Image: Process and Presence in Photography (Online)

The practice of contemplative photography invites a shift toward cultivating presence of attention. This seminar encourages a more intuitive approach to imagemaking, one that allows for discovery and embraces the unknown. Plans and expectations are relinquished, and students become more attuned to what is unfolding in the moment. Through short readings, assignments, and weekly critiques, they develop more nuanced perception—visual and beyond—while respecting the process as much as the product itself.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
