Students in this class find pleasure in conversations as we explore both contemporary and classic essays on photography. A lively and challenging discourse emerges as we move into a new era, where old rules no longer apply. We also deepen our knowledge of photography and extend our ability to articulate when speaking about a diverse array of work. Participants read texts by Hilton Als, Robert Adams, and Ariella Azoulay, among others, that address photography’s multiple histories through a widened lens.
Prerequisite: Open to All Skill Levels: Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes.
