In this online class, students develop a cohesive photographic project originating from their own interests and experiences. They approach difficult themes, interior emotional content, or imbalances they perceive in the world around them. They also engage with the world beyond their own and create a series of images that illustrate an external concern. Subjects may include significant events, upheavals, or desires. We address the mechanics of editing, sequencing, and essay-writing in support of work that conveys an original point of view.

Prerequisite: Advanced: You are comfortable with your camera, whether film or digital, and with your photographic practice. You have already produced or are working on a body of work. You are proficient in Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, et cetera. You understand printing or portfolio revision processes. You may be seeking ways to strengthen your work through sequencing, theoretical readings, and group critiques.

Note: Digital SLR or Mirrorless Cameras are welcome for this course.

Fee: $465.00

Additionally for the first day of class create two images. One that exemplifies an internal concern and a second an external one. This can be a feeling, an anxiety, a conflict, or a passion. A digital file or print are both acceptable.
