Dates: September 27-28, 2025

Course Tuition: $320

Join Freshkills Photographer-in-Residence and ICP faculty member Jade Doskow for a rare opportunity to engage with the transformation of a high-profile former landfill-turned-park site. Once the world's largest landfill before its closing in 2001, Freshkills Park has since been engineered with layers of soil and infrastructure-and is now evolving into a vital space for wildlife, recreation, science, education, and art. Access to the park's interior is limited to scheduled programs, making this a unique opportunity for early exploration and learning. Students meet on-site at Freshkills to photograph at sundown, then later reconvene via Zoom for a critique session.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.

Students are encouraged to review ICP's Classroom Disclaimer for current information regarding COVID-19 policies, classroom guidelines, and more. These policies are subject to change at anytime.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class. Registration for this course will close one day prior to the start date of the course.
