From the Museum and into the Streets

NYC residents and visitors alike enjoy watching the city unfold anew each day. Students in this class delve into the ICP exhibition Here We Are: Scenes from the Streets to find meaning and inspiration. Then, we head out to photograph in some of the city’s most visually exciting spots, including Times Square, Penn Station, the Lower East Side, the West Village, and Wall Street. Discussions, critiques, and additional presentations further inspire these outings. Various styles, from documentary to conceptual, are introduced, and hands-on presentations cover lighting, flash, night exposure, model releases, “working” the street, and more.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
