Photography Day and Night: Chasing the Light

Course Code: 23FCEPV100I

Dates: September 16-24, 2023

Meets: Sa and Su from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM ET

Location: ICP (84 Ludlow Street)

Course Tuition: $795

Travel and landscape photographers know all too well how dramatically the appearance of a location can vary as the light changes. The warm glow that sunset casts becomes eerie or mystical as darkness descends. Taught by travel photographer Kristin Holcomb and fine-art photographer Lynn Saville, this workshop will explore several locations in the city that change dramatically from daylight to darkness. Classes will begin at ICP, where we will review images from previous shoots and discuss the best way to capture light. We will then travel to our location to explore daylight; as it fades, we will have dinner together, and then return to the same locations to shoot as natural light turns to artificial.Note: Students are responsible for their dinner expense.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Beginner. No prior photography experience is needed for these foundation courses.

Students are encouraged to review ICP's Classroom Disclaimer for current information regarding COVID-19 policies, classroom guidelines, and more. These policies are subject to change at anytime.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
