Spring Term Mentorship: April 8 - June 27, 2022

Registration deadline: April 15, 2022

Students receive individualized attention and guidance about their creative and artistic photographic practice through ten hours of one-on-one meeting time with an ICP mentor.

Students register for mentorship hours, and then meet their mentor online to review their current portfolio; mentors assess student’s current photographic strengths, identify growth opportunities, and help students to choose Continuing Education (CE) courses which will help them to become stronger visual storytellers.

Subsequent meetings, which will be set-up between the student and the mentor throughout the term, include goal setting and feedback about current student work and projects. Upon conclusion of the mentorship hours, students will have gained an increased awareness about their own photographic and artistic practice, set goals for future personal and technical growth, and will benefit from the career expertise of their mentor.

Martine Fougeron is a French-American fine art photographer living and working in New York whose work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major public and private collections. Born in Paris, she studied at LFNY, l’Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, Wellesley College and the International Center of Photography. Fougeron's award-winning fine art project Nicolas & Adrien offers an intimate portrait of the lives of her two adolescent sons and their group of friends and was published as a monograph by Steidl. Fougeron’s artistic document of The South Bronx Trades is a revelation and celebration of the immense diversity of skills thriving in the South Bronx. The work was exhibited in a solo show at The Bronx Museum of The Arts in 2016. Her incisive images of life and culture in that city have made her a frequent contributor to major publications: The New York Times Sunday Magazine, The Wall Street Journal Magazine, New York Magazine, FT Week-End Les Echos Week-End and The New Yorker. Fougeron is on the faculty of the International Center of Photography and has been a guest artist and teacher at Pratt Institute, New York University, CCNY and SVA.
