Everyone likes to laugh, but what is visual punning? Mastering time and framing relationships are two tools that the camera is uniquely designed to exploit. In this online course we explore five aspects of visual humor in photography. Through in-class lectures, reading and photographic assignments, we explore how photographers such as Jacques Henri Lartigue, Helen Levitt, and Elliott Erwitt master visual humor and wit. Multi-media artist Jan Baracz will join the class as a Guest Speaker.
Prerequisite: Advanced: You are comfortable with your camera, whether film or digital, and with your photographic practice. You have already produced or are working on a body of work.
