Learn the language of cinematography and produce your first short video piece. This intermediate course introduces teens to the history of film and the creative and technical building blocks of telling stories through moving images. Students will learn how to shoot video and capture sound on a smartphone using the app Filmic Pro*, as well as learn basic editing techniques in Adobe Premiere. To inspire their own stories, students will have the opportunity to meet guest artists working in video and film. The class culminates with a screening program for family and friends, where students will present their final video projects and accompanying artist statements. *Access to the app Filmic Pro will be provided to all students.*
