Course Code: 21SCEPV00005

Dates: May 12 - June 30, 2021

Meets: W from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST

Location: Online Zoom Classroom

In this course, photographers learn to create images from their imagination. We begin by looking at notable practitioners of the constructed-image genre, such as Cindy Sherman, Jeff Wall, and Sandy Skoglund. We then spend time mining film, literature, and artworks that help to inspire and create new photographic projects. Students devise a plan from concept to completion, which includes brainstorming, writing, sketching, and photo shoots. No special space is needed; work can be created from home, inside or out. This course is limited to 12 students.

Prerequisite: Open to All Skill Levels: Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes.

Note: All camera formats are welcome.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
