Our personal spaces range from the four walls of our homes to our greater communities. The environments we choose comfort us, hold our memories, and reflect our values, personal choices, and visual aesthetics. Yet in the midst of our day-to-day responsibilities, we often become blind to the art on our walls, our furniture, and even the people we love. This course explores ways of seeing our personal environments, whether within our homes or beyond, as fresh inspiration for personal work.

Prerequisite: Intermediate: You are familiar with a camera, whether film or digital. You understand aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, histograms, and how to control focus. You are comfortable editing and processing your images. You may want to learn how to utilize your camera in a more thoughtful and articulate way, or learn more about lighting or how to utilize theoretical concepts in relation to your portfolio of work.

Note: Students will need Adobe Lightroom or the equivalent to create collections and move images within that section while viewing it in grid or contact sheet mode.

Fee: $465.00
