Dates: November 3-19, 2020

In this online introductory class to digital photography, participants explore the basics of using a DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual settings. Topics include exposure control and ISO, shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, and more. Through photo assignments and critique sessions, students of all skill levels learn about both technical and aesthetic aspects of photography.

Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels.

Note: Students must have a DSLR or mirrorless camera, but do not need to use Adobe software. We shoot in RAW and JPEG format and import photos using familiar software already on your computer. RAW files are reserved for future use and JPEGs are presented in class critiques without processing.

This class can be taken simultaneously with Photography II Online: Workflow and Personal Vision.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
