Night Moves: Exploring Analog Photography at Night

Delve into the mysterious world of long-exposure night photography! Through a combination of theory and practice, students in this course learn to make better exposures at night. We cover metering and film reciprocity failure before we take to the streets equipped with our tripods and film cameras for evening camera walks. Participants also learn how to make scans that get the most detail out of their film. This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Intermediate: You are familiar with a camera, whether film or digital. You understand aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, histograms, and how to control focus. You are comfortable editing and processing your images. You may want to learn how to utilize your camera in a more thoughtful and articulate way, or learn more about lighting or how to utilize theoretical concepts in relation to your portfolio of work.
