iPhone Street Photography

What better way is there to capture the life of the city than through the discrete, reactive, and user-friendly iPhone? In this course, students practice the fundamental principles of iPhone street photography via weekly assignments, street photography books, and class critiques. Together, we interrogate the ethics of street photography, cover third-party editing apps, and explore issues of consent as well as best practices for interacting with strangers. A guest speaker visits the class to provide insight into their street photography practice. We also go on one guided photo-walk around the Lower East Side.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Beginner. No prior photography experience is needed for these foundation courses.
