Photographing North Brooklyn, from Brooklyn Bridge Park to Greenpoint

In this full weekend workshop, students explore the dynamic neighborhoods of North Brooklyn, such as Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Fort Greene, DUMBO, and Brooklyn Heights. We study archival photographs of these neighborhoods as well as contemporary photographers who work in street photography and architecture. Traveling both by foot and by ferry, participants then photograph people, buildings, the cityscape, and waterways. There is an opportunity to share work with classmates on Day 2. All cameras are welcome.

Note: Note: This is a walking-intensive course. Come prepared with suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, and consider photography equipment that is not too heavy for extended periods of walking.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
