Writing is a big part of a photographer's (or any visual artist's) work. Your portfolio is never complete without an artist statement-and most photographers and visual artists find it difficult to write one. If you could write about it, then you would be writing about it, not photographing it, right?! Students in this class learn how to talk and write about their work succinctly, clearly, and simply. We also cover how to catch the attention of curators, editors, and judges. Exercises include workshopping your written statements about your visual work and completing in-class exercises with prompts.
Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
