The Conceptual Landscape and Architecture Portfolio (Online)

Contemporary architectural and landscape photography requires a specific sensitivity to light, perspective, and the environs of the site, as well as awareness of the historical, social, and aesthetic pressures that shape the world around us. A rigorous approach to composition and style—in addition to a full commitment to one’s artistic practice—can further support the intention of the work in an architecture and landscape portfolio. Combining class discussions, critiques, lectures, and assignments personalized to each student, this course provides a full framework for conceptualizing a sophisticated body of work focusing on architecture and/or the landscape. This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Advanced: You are comfortable with your camera, whether film or digital, and with your photographic practice. You have already produced or are working on a body of work. You are proficient in Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, et cetera. You understand printing or portfolio revision processes. You may be seeking ways to strengthen your work through sequencing, theoretical readings, and group critiques.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
