Black-and-White Film Photography II

This course guides students in advancing their analog photographic practice. Participants should have a firm grasp of basic darkroom techniques and be ready to learn advanced camera and darkroom skills, including an introduction to medium format cameras and fine printing skills, with the goal of building a cohesive body of work. Class demonstrations, lectures, and assignments assist students in refining and harnessing their technical skills and aesthetic vocabulary, which can be used toward discovering a personal visual language. 

Course Level / Prerequisite: Advanced: You are comfortable with your camera, whether film or digital, and with your photographic practice. You have already produced or are working on a body of work. You are proficient in Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, et cetera. You understand printing or portfolio revision processes. You may be seeking ways to strengthen your work through sequencing, theoretical readings, and group critiques.
