In this intermediate digital photography course, students will learn about various immigrant and BIPOC-led photo collectives who have relied on the unified strength of their members to bring social issues to light and create opportunities for those who might otherwise be overlooked by editors and arts institutions. In addition to working on their own personal vision projects, students will also create images in response to each other’s work. Class includes photographic and writing exercises, collaborative assignments, visual presentations, and group critiques. All classes culminate with a presentation of photographic projects and writings shared with family and friends.
Prerequisite: Any level I Teen Academy course, or as approved by Teen Academy staff.
Need-based scholarships are available for all Teen Academy classes. To apply please visit: www.icp.org/school/teen-academy.
