Constructed, Staged, Performed: From Imagination to Image (Online)

This course emphasizes the making of images born in the imagination. From worlds on tabletops to tableaux and full-fledged cinematic productions, contemporary photography is rich with examples of images that are made rather than taken. Subject matter will be wide-ranging and may include identity, self-representation, ecology, social justice, contemporary culture, fashion, aesthetics, abstraction, or any other territory important to your practice. The class will foster an atmosphere of experimentation and compassionate mutual support and students will develop a portfolio of new work. Class time will combine instructor presentations surveying this rich topic with assignments, student presentations, and constructive feedback.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
