Many of us made our favorite photographs when we first picked up our cameras. But as we mastered the technology, we often lost sight of our original spark. This class examines your patterns and inspirations to help you reconnect with your own work. Students may use working projects or random groups of photographs that are of interest but have not yet been used in a completed portfolio. We focus on your intentions and the stories you want to tell, as well as how you tell them, by looking for visual and emotional clues in your photographs that lead us to your personal story. By tapping into your experiences, emotions, and obsessions, and by editing, sequencing and writing, you learn how to make work that excites you again and gain a deeper sense of your purpose as a photographer. This class is limited to 12 students.

Prerequisite: Open to All Skill Levels: Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes.

Note: Students may shoot film or digital, but film photographs must be scanned and saved as digital files for class review.

Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Please register early, within five days of the start-date, to reduce the likelihood of course cancellation and to ensure you receive all course-related materials in time to prepare for class.
