For students new to photography, this 3-hour course demystifies the mirrorless camera (DSLRs also welcome) and teaches the core fundamentals of its operation. Students will explore camera anatomy and essential controls—including memory cards, file formats, playback settings, and exposure modes.
Students will also work on mastering focus: they will learn single-image focusing, manual vs. autofocus modes, and the mechanics of focusing and refocusing on moving or static subjects to achieve sharp results. The session includes dedicated hands-on time to test these principles through guided indoor and outdoor shooting exercises (weather dependent). This course provides the confidence and practical foundation necessary to seamlessly transition into Digital Photography I: Fundamentals & Workflow.Course Level / Prerequisite: Beginner. No prior photography experience is needed for these foundation courses.
