Do you have a community you’d like to spotlight—a story that deserves to be seen and understood on a deeper level? This course guides you in the art of visually documenting communities with empathy by engaging deeply with their voices and challenging traditional notions of objectivity in photography. We explore the role of the photographer as an advocate and a storyteller, approaching subjects with compassion, understanding, and a commitment to social justice. Through hands-on assignments, reflective discussions, and in-depth critiques, you learn to create work that illuminates marginalized and underserved communities and uplifts them with respect and dignity.

Note: This course is open to photographers at all levels who are ready to harness the power of images to inspire change."
