This course explores the intersection of innovative technologies, such as synthetic images and Artificial Intelligence (AI), in regard to visual storytelling. Through lectures, hands-on exercises, and project-based learning, participants delve into the creative possibilities and ethical considerations involved in using these tools to craft compelling narratives. They also engage with industry experts and peers, receiving feedback and guidance on a visual storytelling project they develop over the course. As students refine their skills and explore the boundaries of applying emerging technologies to their practice, they learn to navigate the complex landscape of contemporary storytelling.

Note: This course requires access to Adobe Photoshop and shadow.tech.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Intermediate: You are familiar with a camera, whether film or digital. You understand aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, histograms, and how to control focus. You are comfortable editing and processing your images. You may want to learn how to utilize your camera in a more thoughtful and articulate way, or learn more about lighting or how to utilize theoretical concepts in relation to your portfolio of work.
