Winter Light: Photographing Brooklyn's Grand Public Parks

New York boasts a specific quality of light like nowhere else, and it changes drastically in the winter. This course delves into the stunning nuances of January light in the city, which students explore amid the landscapes of Brooklyn’s great parks and public arenas: Brooklyn Bridge Park, Prospect Park, Greenwood Cemetery, Sunset Park, and green spaces in Greenpoint. Carefully studying the nuance of light and subject, we interpret these vast public parks through the lens. The instructor also introduces the work of great photographers for inspiration. This course is limited to 12 students.

Course Level / Prerequisite: Open to all skill levels. Students ranging from beginner to experienced will be successful in classes that are Open to All Skill Levels.
