As imagemakers and grounded in ICP’s mission, we have a unique opportunity to reflect on and respond to what’s happening around us visually. Co-taught by artists and educators, Devin Allen and Roy Baizan, and utilizing Devin’s new book, No Justice, No Peace: From the Civil Rights Movement to Black Lives Matter, as inspiration, students will learn historical and current approaches to creating stories as critical responses to the world around them. In this intensive workshop for teen imagemakers of all levels, students will create their own visual project exploring the ways photography can be a tool for change and community advocacy. The curriculum includes: visual presentations, photographic and writing assignments, discussions, and critiques. The course will culminate in a final presentation for family and friends to celebrate students’ achievements.

Need-based scholarships are available for all Teen Academy classes. To apply for a scholarship, use the registration link here.
