They say a picture is worth a thousand words. And today, we have the tools to expand from a single image to create immersive, visual-led stories that can be even more powerful than an image alone. In this intermediate/advanced course, students will use the tools that they have in hand to combine images, video, audio, and text into rich, compelling narratives. Drawing inspiration from individual photographers and the media, students will expand upon their existing work or start anew. Through assignments and critiques, students will discuss editing and sequencing their images; selecting video clips; the use of audio and text; and basic design principles. A guest photographer will share how she is using immersive storytelling to tell her own engaging stories, as the students prepare to share theirs.
Open to all skill levels. Geared for students with experience using different digital platforms.
Need-based scholarships are available for all Teen Academy classes. To apply, please visit: www.icp.org/school/teen-academy
All winter 2021 classes will be held online.
